Strategic Internet Marketing

Strategic Internet Marketing: 6 Points to Ponder Towards Success

Internet marketing is a gargantuan marketplace. There are many ways to earn profits, many things to sell, and many individuals to deal with. If you do not have a definite marketing plan, you will be lost in its depths, and probably, will not find your way back on the track, resulting to the capsizing of your business.

Even formulating a definite Internet marketing plan is also as huge as the marketplace itself. There are plenty of things to consider—creating a website, how to develop your website, how to market your website, and so on. Furthermore, it is on the website aspect alone. It does not include market movements, relationship with your clients, potential clients, and site visitors, and others. With so many considerations, what will you think of first and foremost?

This is where strategic Internet marketing takes the action. It is used to define your potential market. Before you even plan to create a website and start your Internet marketing business, you need to study your potential clientele, evaluate the competition when you decide to cater to a particular market, and explore every existing opportunity for the success of your online business. When you start without thinking a strategic Internet marketing first, expect that you are on the track towards failure.

What is the concept that surrounds strategic Internet marketing? It helps you define your business goals clearly and lets you set your objectives. With a concrete yet flexible plan to consider along your Internet marketing business, you will be able to gear up a good start on your Internet marketing career and proceed to success.

How will you start in your strategic Internet marketing? There are 6 points that you need to ponder. This will help you define your plan and what you must do to keep your online business afloat along the course of your online career.

1.    You start by defining your target market. There are certain questions that you need to answer to clearly define your target market. What type of individuals will be your most valuable clients? What class of society they will come from? What age group they belong to? What are their discretionary incomes? The answers that you will get out of these questions will help you define who you will cater to when you start your online business.

2.    Strategic Internet marketing is not just defining who your customers are. You also need to figure out who your potential competitors are and their strengths and weaknesses in the market. From this, you will know how you will serve your potential market in way different from your competitors. Give your potential clients a choice between you and your competitors.

3.    Your online business is useless if your target market is not shopping on the Internet. It is understood, since there are individuals who are wary in making purchases over the web. Formulate payment alternatives and assure your potential clients that the transaction will flow smoothly and with utmost security.

4.    Do you have a searchable product? Are the products considered to be a major click to your clients? Although you will determine the marketability of your product when you already started your business, you can still determine its marketability based on other marketers offering similar product.

5.    Do you have the ability of creating “a community of raving fans”? Your online business must turn your clients into repeat buyers, which will provide you a continuous stream of income over the years. What are the possible ways of turning your clients into long-term product evangelizers?

6.    Are you ready to take the criticisms that you may receive from your unsatisfied clients? It is true that you cannot please everybody, thus you need to have a plan to compensate your unsatisfied clients. Are you willing to give out a “money-back-guarantee” feature?

Getting your potential market through strategic Internet marketing is just like joining an expedition of fish observers to track a particular fish specie. If you know how to look for them and where to look for them, you will find them easily. Moreover, there are also Internet buyers who are just waiting to be discovered by the right Internet marketers.

Do not just expect them to come looking for you. Be the one to look for them through a strategic Internet marketing hunt.

Maximum Exposure on Low Cost Internet Ad

“Maximum Exposure on Low Cost Internet Ad”
(Make the most of a low cost Internet advertising method)

Advertising had long since been a major determinant of a business’ success.  This would include the presentation of the product / service to the consumers.  What really matters is how it is presented to the target market to be able to capture it.

Whatever the package, the ad media also plays a great role in determining the success of the product or service awareness.

What may be its advantages over other proven medium like the best-selling TV ads?

Advantages

1. Low Cost

Eventhough the Internet ad might be viewed as “classy” or far-reaching, as compared to other medium, this is far cheaper than most.  Internet Ad Packages are offered for as low as $29.99 for a one-month run-time period.

2. Capture market

Should your product / service aim to cater to the younger generation or the corporate-oriented ones, Internet ad would be best since they would always be “hooked-up” into the net surfing sites that might have a link to your very own. Result, a great number of “hits” on your site!

2. Hassle free

All you would ever really need is a PC (and some knowledge and bright ideas in forming your site) wherein you could open your site, search for the best Internet Ad package, and check / update the status of your ad.  You may actually never have to leave your home to advertise!

3. Updated ads

Unlike the TV ads that need to be updated on a regular basis, Internet ads may run for quite some time without the need for change.  If so, change in the site is very minimal and may be done easily at home.

Disadvantages

1. Scope
Limited market may be captured if one would solely use the Internet Ad for advertising.  Although most people now are into the use of technology, i.e. surfing the Internet, still, majority of the average consumers still relies on the old form of advertising as a means of gathering information about certain products / service.

2. Additional cost

If one would enlist the help of another professional or establishment to produce the site for their product or service, this would entail additional costs on the part of the entrepreneur.

Given the stated list of advantages and disadvantages about low-coast Internet Ad, an entrepreneur may now weigh in its applicability to his / her product or service.

The aim of Internet ad is to offer the widest range or “Maximum Exposure” of the brand at the least possible cost. Now, does that not sound good or what?

Protecting Children Online

Protecting Children Online
Steps Toward Making Your Computer “Weirdo-Proof”

It’s an unfortunate fact of reality, but children are the most victimized computer users on the Internet today. The good news is that there are some practical steps you can take to protect your children from sexual predators, hackers, and other seedy individuals who want to cause harm. This article will describe a few of them.

The first step in protecting your children at the computer is to prevent their access to  passwords. This will keep them from sharing passwords with others and inadvertently enabling hacking into your system. If you think about it, there’s no reason why a five, seven, or even twelve year old needs to know the passwords to sensitive areas on the computer unless you’ve given them permission! In fact, children don’t need to know the password used to access the Internet either. It may be a hassle to type it in each time they want to get online, but it’s better to know the times that they connect than to have them sneak online without your permission and knowledge of their activities.

The second step towards protecting your children online is using the computer together. Siting next to your child while he or she peruses the Internet, you can guide him or her to make safe and intelligent decisions. You can approve websites and bookmark them together. You can monitor the conversations your children have with their friends and teach them appropriate online behavior at the same time. You can make recommendations and create a private time for quality time as well.

The third step involves blocking access to inappropriate areas altogether. You and your children may not always agree about what’s appropriate, but as a guardian, you’re in control and you’re ultimately responsible for their safety. Take the time to investigate software tools that put you in control and allow you to block access to certain websites. If you use an online service like AOL (America Online), you can use its internal Parental Control settings to block access to various chatrooms and websites. You could even block instant messaging and email from anyone who isn’t a fellow AOL user.

Other tools available online operate similar to the way that AOL’s Parental Control settings work, however no collection of tools could replace the reinforcement of mom and dad. Never let your children speak with strangers and never leave them alone at the computer unattended. Children just don’t have the experience that adults have and they don’t have the skills required to handle inappropriate conversations, emails, or images found online.

NOTE: Some of these tools include kid-specific web browsers that will visit pre-approved websites. Others include browser plug-ins that won’t allow access to online areas that contain forbidden keywords.

Another step requires teaching your children to never ever volunteer personal information. Under no circumstances, should children give their personal names, home addresses, phone numbers, or school information to anyone over the Internet regardless of the situation.  In the even this information is required to enter a contest of some sort, be sure that you’re the one who makes the decision to supply it and that you’re the one who does it.

Performing all of these steps won’t be easy. However you can help minimize resistance to your monitoring efforts by explaining why you’re taking these precautions. Smaller children will probably enjoy the time you spend together at the computer, but older children and pre-teens may resent it. To help build a case for your concern, you might want to show your older children a few news stories that exemplify the dangers that unsupervised children are exposed to. The newspaper is unfortunately full of examples but with your help, we can reduce them world-wide.

The Difference of Adware, Spyware and Anti-virus

The Difference of Adware, Spyware and Anti-virus

Adware, spyware and computer virus share some similarities, one of which is that all three are major nuisances for computer users. Let’s differentiate the three.

Spyware is software that does not intentionally harm your computer. What they do is that they create pathways wherein someone else aside from the computer owner can communicate with the computer. Normally spywares record the various types of web sites you visit which are later used by web advertisers to allow them to send you unwanted emails and pop-ups.

This is why spyware are usually frowned upon and greatly avoided. They are more intrusive than adware. Spyware have their own separate executable programs which allow them to record your keystrokes, scan files on your hard disks and look at other applications that you use including but not limited to chat programs, cookies and Web browser settings.

The spyware then will send the information that it had gathered to the spyware author. The agent will then use this information for advertising and marketing purposes. They even sell the information to advertisers and other parties.

Adware, on the other hand, are more legitimate form of freeware. Similar to spyware, adwares are advertising materials which are packaged into a software or program and are installed automatically once that particular program or software is added into the computer system. Some forms of adware, on the other hand, download advertising contents as a particular application is being utilized. It is quite unfortunate that most of the adware programs take the form of spywares that is they track and report user information to program authors.

Some signs of spyware infections include pop-up ads that seem to be not related to the site you are viewing. More often than not, spyware pop-ups are advertisements about adult contents. Also if you notice your computer slowing down, there’s a big chance that spywares and its other components have found their way in your operating system. When the Windows desktop also takes a longer time to load, its best to scan your computer for possible spyware infections.

Meanwhile, viruses are destructive form of software. They were purely designed and created for one purpose alone: to wreck havoc to your computer. They destroy whatever they come in contact to and will initiate self replication and infect as many components of the computer’s operating system or network as possible.

Nowadays, a lot of anti-virus software also provides spyware and adware scanning and removal utilities. Some programs, however, are focused on located and deleting or destroying spyware and adware programs. Whether is an anti-virus software or a anti-spyware dedicated scanner, they both search your computer and identify any spyware and virus installed on your system.

They then remove it as well as their components located in the system registry among other places in your computer. It is therefore, good to regularly update your virus or spyware scanner to ensure that your computer is protected from the thousands of spyware and viruses in the internet. Never be fooled from ads that claim that their products only contain adware.

These adware maybe spyware in disguised and are just waiting to be deployed for them to gather your information. Learn to setup firewall systems and always block pop-up blockers to minimize computer infection and ensure the security of all your computer files.

Why are the SEO companies keeping prices secret?

The continuing growth of internet usage has brought with it a problem for businesses who are trying to be noticed on the web. There is no medium as powerful in marketing a website then the search engines. Unfortunately there are so many websites on the internet yours can get lost in a cyber ocean teaming with businesses that are similar. In order for your website to be on the first page or first few pages that come up on the search engines, you need to have plenty of things in order. The process of adjusting your website to be search engine friendly is called Search Engine Optimization, or SEO.

Plenty of new companies are popping up that offer SEO services, and most of the web design companies are offering it now too. However, businesses beware! A large percentage of these sites that offer the service haven’t used it themselves. It makes you wonder how they can perform it as a service to someone else.

So many new companies boast about their SEO services but their websites give you little to no information about the services, it’s like a secret. Just what are their services, I have to give them all my information before I can (get a quote) about how much their services will cost my business. Are they going to decide by looking at my information how much I can afford? Come to find out the same company that boasts a first page listing isn’t listed on the first page.

It’s hard for someone who knows nothing about SEO to check on a company to make sure they know what they are doing. One easy way is to check references and first of all check the company’s website. Does their website come up on the first few pages of the search engine when you type in their key words? If it is a web design business, type in web design and the city they are from, if it doesn’t show on the first few pages you would be better off finding a new SEO company. You don’t have to understand just be able to verify. Plenty of web design companies that offer SEO services, even some of the SEO companies themselves, have a low search engine presence, so how could they get you a high one? Many SEO companies promise to do the service they do a little and charge a lot, some of the companies are charging as much as $150 per hour, after a huge down payment of 3 to $4,000.00 and they actually do hardly anything, yet they cannot be held accountable by you, you don’t understand their work.

Using your target market information SEO services can not only get your site to show up in the search engines but a good service will be sure to get your business listed in google maps and local websites that will list for free. That’s why you need a service that is up front about the things they will do, listing them how ever technical they are. Optimizing does not guarantee a top spot in the Search Engines. So you need to be weary of a company that promises this. However you should be able to see a difference in the traffic to your site, and your SEO service should be able to give you reports showing the traffic to your site. This can be used for marketing purposes also. If these things are not offered at the SEO service you could find yourself wasting a large chunk of money and not getting the results you would like.

MySQL Event Scheduler — Schedule and automate common recurring SQL-based tasks.

“We have tested other databases, but have not found anything as fast for our data sets as well-partitioned tables in MySQL 5.1,” said Guy Adams, Chief Technical Officer of Parallel Ltd., a provider of satellite management and network operations software to some of the world’s largest communications companies.

MySQL Enterprise subscriptions and the new Query Analyzer
